After upgrade of Slovenian toll station system to free-flow (for heavy vehicles) and vignettes (for cars and motorbikes), existing toll station buildings are not nesessary anymore and will be teared down. In their place, Slovenian highway operator DARS is building VMS-equipped toll control points and space for exclusion of heavy vehicles in snow conditions.
Former Torovo toll station was reconstructed in this manner. Asist comissioned 6 full graphics VMSs in various configurations and control system for their operation. All tests with police and highway toll collection units were successfull as the vast majority of drivers were following VMS instructions.
